About Us

The Lounge is a mixed venue with a new, modern feel and décor to it. It is not only situated in the heart of the Bristol gay village but is also within easy access to the city centre, The Marriott Hotel and is a stones throw away from Bristol Temple Meads train station and major bus routes. Its friendly and warm atmosphere makes it a hit with the locals and visitors all year round and being open 7 days a week with entertainment on most evenings, live music, enthusiastic staff and drinks promotions to suit everyone, you'd be mad to miss out. The Lounge is a great place to meet for those heading for our sister club Flamingos, which boasts a huge capacity, 4 bars, 3 levels and 2 dance floors with live acts and top DJ's like DJ Daniel Stone of Route2 Birmingham and Queenshilling Bristol, Lukas Hopwood of Gaydar Radio, DJ Milo of Liquid Chepstow and DJ Shorty P with guest appearances like The Sharp Boys, Freemasons, The Boy George Experience, Sheila's Wheels, Scissor Sisterz and many more.

The Lounge offers you a smoke free, recently furbished bar complete with a range of different wines, beers and spirits to suit everyone's needs. We also have a requests service available so you can ask for music of your choice to listen too while you sit and chat, relax or just enjoy a well earned drink. Taxi ranks are situated approximately 150 yards down the road with a local taxi firm and is within walking distance.

We are one of many gay or gay friendly venues situated in the village including Flamingos Nightclub, The Old Castle Green, The Old Market Tavern, Starbooks and The Cottage Sauna, not to mention the very soon to open "Bristol Bear Bar" and "The Retreat". Our Security

Our security is supplied by Invisible Security Ltd. They are a premier provider of security services for the Bristol and Avon area of the Southwest. Our venue operates a zero tolerance to homophobic abuse, drugs, anti-social behaviour and crime. With the help of Invisible Security we endeavour to make our venue as safe as physically possible. We operate with 24hr CCTV recording of the venue and have SIA licensed door supervisors for added safety and security to our staff and more importantly, YOU, our customers!.

"As a company we strive to not only make our venues safer but also to help our community as a whole. From September 2007, Scene Watch will be setting up and having it’s first meetings as Bristol’s newest pub-watch scheme. We will be actively participating in the scheme in partnership with our clients."

The Lounge operates as part of the Bristol SceneWATCH scheme which is sponsored by I.S. LTD and is exclusive to the Bristol gay scene.

As a venue we operate a zero tolerance to homophobic abuse, drugs and anti-social behaviour. Anyone abusing these points will be removed from our venue and where neccesary reported to the police.

By working in conjunction with the SceneWATCH scheme we as a scene are making Bristol a safer and happier place to go out and are encouraging people to spend their time in any of the listed venues with complete confidence and comfort.
